Prenatal Check-up

Patrick and I went to our Prenatal Appointment with Dr. Wendt at San Francisco Kaiser Permanente today at 10:30am.

22 weeks and 4 days
Blood Pressure is: 117/78
Weight is: 137 pounds
Belly Measurement: 24 centimeters
Baby's Heartbeat: Strong and healthy

Next appointment is on Tuesday, August 24th at 2:45pm; before next appointment I have to get labs drawn for anemia and Glucose testing.

18 weeks SONOGRAM

It was a loooooooooong appointment. Apparently, SF Kaiser just got new sonogram machines and the sonographers are still getting use to operating it. Baby was mostly on his/her tummy so we looked at the spine a lot. Sonographer was going to let us know the baby's gender but we told her that we wanted to be surprised!

Ultrasound went well. It was so neat seeing Baby Myers being so lazy/active :-)!

Prenatal Check-up

Prenatal Appointment with Dr. Jacqueline Wendt at 4:20pm at San Francisco Kaiser.

Yes, a new doctor... again! Hopefully Dr. Wendt will be our doctor for the rest of the pregnancy; she's very down to earth and helpful in answering questions Patrick and I have.

After listening to our baby's heart beat, she did a quick sonogram and we saw the baby punching and kicking and doing tumbles... so cute...!

I am sick :-(

Probably just a cold, but I felt feverish and my throat was sore all night last night after my late nap. I called the Advice Nurse and they told me that I should come in for a SWAB TEST just in case it's STREP Throat; which I did today. Ugh! Turns out, it's just a cold... Yay!

Meanwhile, I'm drinking LOTS of hot water with honey and lemon... AND to make sure my temperature doesn't go any higher than what it is now (101.3), I'm taking Tylenol.

I'm feeling much much better; just need to rest.

NEW/old Doctor @ Kaiser in SF

I transferred from South San Francisco Kaiser to San Francisco Kaiser because it's easier to get to via public transportation when Patrick is not able to take me to my appointments AND South San Francisco does NOT deliver babies...!

Today, I met my new doctor, Dr. Gogia... well, she won't be my doctor for long; she's apparently moving to La La Land! We talked, she checked my wight and blood pressure; also the baby's heart beat using the doppler thingy... everything looks good. At the end, she helped me find a NEW doctor.

Afterwards, I went to the Laboratory to do a Glucose Blood Test since diabetes runs in the family. Result is good!

Happy Birthday To ME!

One of the best birthday ever is to see my baby kick, punch, roll over and tumble inside the womb!

Nuchal Translucency (NT) ultrasound is done by doctors with special training. It measures the back of the fetus' neck.

"We're HAVING a BABY!!!"

For Mother's Day and to celebrate my birthday, Patrick and I went out to dinner with Mom, Dad, Kuya, Deb, Manny and his wife at Thanh Long. After everyone had ordered; Patrick and I gave Mom her Mother's Day present... it was a cup printed with a picture to the left...! AND, some sonogram photos, too! Everyone was excited...!

At that same moment as my Mom opens her present, Yaya (Patrick's Mom) opens her presents, too... 2577.51 miles away! Patrick and I expected a call right away, but surprisingly Yaya did not call. After dinner had ended, Patrick ended up calling Yaya and it turns out Yaya has already started calling relatives to tell 'em the good news! She did not call us because she knew we were at dinner and did not want to interrupt.

We all can't wait to meet our little one!

When Kian found out that we're having a baby, he said... "surprise, it's a baby!"

California Prenatal Screening Program

"The Prenatal Screening Program provides pregnant women with a risk assessment for open neural tube defects (NTD), abdominal wall defects (AWD), down syndrome (trisomy 21), trisomy 18 and SLOS (Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome) through blood tests and Nuchal Translucency (NT) ultrasound."


Patrick and I have NOT announced the pregnancy yet, but today, I had my first blood test drawn for prenatal testing and Rosalie (my supervisor) was at Kaiser with me to take care of some blood test her doctor ordered for her. I tried so hard and wished that she didn't see the paperwork I had with me and luckily she just assumed I was just doing a blood test for my blood sugar level. Wheeeeww!

The Very First OFFICIAL Prenatal Appointment

9:15am with Dr. Chari at Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco!

Baby is doing well -- we "saw" the heartbeat during the ultrasound -- the tiniest thing... ever!

1st Ultra Sound

Patrick and I met with Dr. Chari at Kaiser Permanente in South San Francisco at 4:00 pm today! Baby looks like a seed... can't even tell it's a baby yet, but he/she is there!

Lots of forms to fill out and blood tests... 'nuf said.

Last Thursday, I used a home pregnancy test to see if I was pregnant. I waited 3 minutes until I looked at the result. I was confused; it looked like there was a +, but the - line was so faint that I thought I may have tested too early. Knowing that there was a possibility that I CAN be pregnant, I didn't think about it much and just enjoyed the rest of the week and the weekend.

On my lunch break TODAY, I bought a digital home pregnancy test so that I wouldn't have to worry about whether it's a real plus sign since this test will say "pregnant" or "not pregnant." When Patrick and I got home, I wanted so badly to take the test, but Patrick wanted to spend quality time together on the couch; cuddling and talking about our day. At about 6:30p, I finally got him to work on job applications on the computer so I took the test...

"PREGNANT"... wow, there was no confusion; immediately had a smile on my face. Still smiling, I took a walk down the block and when I came back home, I decorated the bathroom and left the pregnancy test on the counter for Patrick's Surprise! It took my an hour to finally get Patrick to get to the bathroom.

"Is this for real," Patrick yells out to me. We are the happiest parents to be tonight...!
